The experience of lifetime awaits you on our cultural immersion trips to Africa. The importance of being in the majority, experiencing your indigenous culture and connecting with the deepest sense of self can be a transformative life altering experience. We want you to understand and be ready to maximize your time in Africa by being culturally prepared , educated and ready for what awaits you across the Atlantic. This means that our MyEducation and MyCommunity focuses are just as important to actually standing on African soil. The context in which you process you initial visits to Africa are just as important as living the experiences themselves. After all what will you miss out on, or what would go over your head or even be completely misunderstand on your trip if you have not studied the people of Africa. Our destination management partner is, Hope for Africa, Inc. Hope for Africa and the Afrimerican Culture Initiative host travel orientations prior to each trip to start the process of cultural immersion all the way in Boston.
Hope for Africa is an international non-governmental organization (NGO) in special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. The organization has been actively engaged in sustainable development work on the African continent since 1996. We believe that the key to Africa’s growth and development hinges on the creation of a leadership team composed of Diaspora Africans (descendants of the Transatlantic Slave Trade), expatriate Africans (African born migrants living abroad), and Africans living on the continent. This leadership team must craft a vision for a positive African future working collaboratively with other people, organizations and nations that are genuinely concerned about the interests of African people.
