Free Resources to aid in the African Cultural Renewal.
The MyCommunity focus of the ‘Connect IV’ is the ‘backbone’ of the entire program. It is how we bring the community physically together. through events, seminars, festivals etc. A good way to look at the MyCommunity focus is that we are using ‘the Africa around us’ here in Boston to educate.
Imagine how many African American, African immigrants , Afro -Caribbean, Afro-Latin and ‘Friend of Africa’ businesses , organizations and individuals that we have in this diverse minority majority city of Boston. How do we harness the collective knowledge of African diaspora to community build? We give them a reason to come together. That reason is that CULTURE IS FUN!!!
Our website is currently being re-designed to accommodate the online portion of the MyCommunity focus. Make sure you subscribe so you are kept up to date with all the upcoming changes to the website. The following updates will be:
The numerous events from fashion shows to festivals to popup markets will be found on the events page.
Boston businesses, organizations and entrepreneurs will be able to register on our site , displaying all their contact info on our business registry page.
There will be a voting system for our ‘#livesinmechallenge.
Become a culture guide
This unique part of the MyCommunity focus leverages on the diverse nature of our city. Once our African American brothers and sisters have identified their African home country and tribe, we work to match them up with African immigrants from their own home country and tribe in Africa. We are always looking for African immigrants to share their culture. Please contact us at info@afrimericanone.org to volunteer.
